The renovation project demolishes a series of small individual closed laboratories and makes the floor plan much more efficient by combining them into a large open laboratory, thereby allowing nine new island lab benches to expand to utilize what was previously duplicate circulation. It removes two existing environmental rooms and replaces one with a smaller, right-sized cold room, providing additional storage space for freezers and equipment.
