This interventional radiology suite was part of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center’s equipment upgrade masterplan. Through significant renovation to existing space, we developed an IR suite that provides the latest in image-guided diagnosis and treatment. The new space serves as an invaluable asset both to patients and to BIDMC’s teaching program.

The renovation required complex coordination with equipment vendors and close collaboration with the clinical team. We worked carefully with both parties to ensure the complete integration of the best possible equipment. Throughout the process, we also balanced the primary purpose of the project—the integration of new technology—with many other priorities, including planning efficiency, patient safety, and the fulfillment of teaching requirements.

The result of our efforts is a space that enhances patient care tremendously. The use of state-of-the-art technology allows for highly accurate diagnoses and minimally invasive procedures. The suite’s innovative design also maximizes efficiency and ease for doctors using these spaces, thus providing medical students and residents with the best learning environment and patients with the best care.
