Substance Abuse Treatment Services
Massachusetts General Hospital
Completed: 2020
Boston, MA
This project at Massachusetts General Hospital consolidates three outpatient department clinics (Bridge Clinic, West End Clinic, Hope Clinic) to promote self-awareness, dignity, and comfort for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Family/group therapy and education rooms were added, as well as new consultation, observation, and exam rooms for the expanded functions. Outpatient clinics; substance abuse programs such as for opiate maintenance, relapse-prevention, and mindfulness; psychiatric services; as well as yoga classes and art therapies, are now accommodated through this renovation. The specific population served here compelled isgenuity to incorporate antiligature safeguards in the design.
